The current time line for the class of 2011 on Extended Essay deadlines is:
- Beginning
of January – Informational
meeting during TOK to cover general instructions and assessment criteria
- January
31, 2010 – Have your subject and
advisor chosen
- Mid
February – After school
advisor/advisee “getting started” meeting
- March
through May – Meet with your
advisor to discuss norms and expectations; begin formulating a thesis or
question for your extended essay
- June
7-10, 2010 – Extended Essay Writing
Seminar at DU
- October
1, 2010 – Rough draft to advisor
- October
31, 2010 – Hand in two typed copies of your completed
Extended Essay (this date is NOT suggested; it is set in stone)

Denver (fee)
Our popular Extended Essay
Workshop returns! This workshop is held over the course of four days at
the University of Denver. The session is led by our two DCHS essay
coordinators. Students have access to DU's extensive library facilities
and receive guidance on a variety of Extended Essay requirements such
as topic research, preparing their essay outline and much more.
The expectation of this workshop is that participating
students attended the March mini-workshop and come to this session
with their defined research question.
Information and
