The Douglas County High School (DCHS) International Baccalaureate Parent Organization (IBPO) is once again proud to support the Extended Essay Camp
The Extended Essay is part of the requirements for all candidates for an IB Diploma. Under the IB Extended Essay curriculum , the students’ grade will be based on the final Extended Essay draft and on the process they followed to produce it. This grade will be reflected in the TOK class final grade.
EXTENDED ESSAY TOPICS
– Developing an overall essay question and sub-components
– Components and structure of the essay
– IBO guidelines for various essay subject areas and grading rubrics
– Research strategies, selection and analyses of valid sources
– Development of the essay outline
– Advice on avoiding common essay mistakes
– One-on-one consultations with students

The EE Camp Dates are:
1st EE Camp
Date: Saturday, January 28th
Venue: DCHS Library
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Snacks will be provided
2nd EE Camp
Date: Friday, February 3rd
Venue: Auraria Library (UC Denver Campus – Downtown Denver)
Time: Times will be announced closer to the date. It will be a full day within the school day.
Transportation: Students will meet at the Lincoln Light Rail Station and travel to Auraria Campus. Return will be by Light Rail as well.
3rd EE Camp
Date: Saturday, May 6th
Venue: DCHS Library
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Snacks will be provided
The cost per student is $100.00
